Removing steering column shroud upper section

Preliminary work 

• Refer to ADJUSTING THE STEERING COLUMN POSITION .

• Turn the steering wheel by 90° to reach the recess in the steering column shroud.

  Using a suitable tool (small slotted screwdriver), press retaining tab into the recess. Simultaneously unlock and remove the steering column shroud upper section.

• Unlock the steering column shroud upper section (1)  with the special tool 2 298 504  and lift it upward to remove it.
