Precondition
The forward/back seat adjustment is operational.
Removing the front seat belt end fitting
NOTE:

- Protect working area.
- Handle tools and components carefully.
- Loosen screw (1).
- Feed out the front seat belt end fitting (2) in the marked area from the seat frame (3).
- Guide out the seat belt end fitting with belt (1) carefully from cover (2) in the marked area.
Removing the outer seat rail cover
NOTE:
For a better overview the removed condition is shown here.
- Unclip the outer seat rail cover (1) carefully from detents (2) of the front seat rail cover (3).
- Guide out and remove the outer seat rail cover (1) carefully in the arrow direction.
Removing the front seat rail covers

- Unlock the detents (1).
- Remove the front seat rail cover (2) in the arrow direction.
Removing the end caps of the rear seat rails

- Shift front seat forwards.
- Loosen screws (1).
- Unclip lock (2)
- Carefully spread end caps (3) of the seat rails in the arrow direction and remove them.

- Shift front seat rearwards.
- Unclip lock (1) of end cap (2) of the front seat rails carefully.NOTE: For a better overview the removed condition is shown here.
- Unlock lock (1) of end cap (2) of the seat rail carefully from seat rail (3) as shown using special tool 2 298 505
.
- Carefully spread end caps (1) of the seat rails in the arrow direction and remove them in the driving direction.
- Loosen screws (1).
- Bring the front seat to center position.
- When removing the front seat:
Retract the steering column fully and adjust it upwards fully.
Deactivate vehicle-specific high-voltage or low-voltage vehicle electrical system
NOTE:
RISK OF DAMAGE
Damage to the high-voltage battery due to the failure to° deactivate the high-voltage system before disconnecting the vehicle battery via the high-voltage service disconnect °in BEV and PHEV vehicles .

- Before disconnecting the vehicle battery, it is essential to deactivate the high-voltage system via the high-voltage service disconnect in BEV and PHEV vehicles.
- All work on the high-voltage system may only be carried out by specially trained and technically experienced personnel.

- Cover the door sill using protective covers.
- Lay front seat (1) towards the rear.
- Unlock plug connection (2) and disconnect.
- Loosen the cable clip (3).

- Lift out front seat (1) with the assistance of a second person.
