(Installing the backrest side section with the airbag on the left and right)

NOTE: Description is for left component only. Procedure on the right side is identical.

NOTE: Perform the steps on the left and right side.

Danger! Immobilization period-threatening injuries!

All work on pyrotechnic parts may be carried out by technically experienced and appropriately trained personnel only.
Replace any damaged part or ones that have been dropped.

WARNING: Airbag unit .
Danger! Immobilization period-threatening injuries!

Before working on the airbag, disconnect the negative battery cable from the battery.
Airbag unit may only be set down with the cushion (airbag itself) facing upwards.

Feed the backrest side section (1) with the airbag correctly in arrow direction into the bottom retaining tabs (2).

Position the backrest side section (1) with the airbag as shown.
Connect connectors (3) and lock.
Carefully snap-in the detent (2) in arrow direction.

Make sure that the retainer (1) of the backrest side section (2) is positioned correctly with the airbag.

Replace the screw (1).
Parts: Screw

Tighten down screw (1).

(TIGHTENING TORQUES SPECIFICATIONS)

Hexagon screw M6x16 Replace screw.	Tightening torque	11.8 Nm
