(Encoding the steering wheel electronics)
Precondition
The steering wheel electronics have been replaced.
NOTE:
TECHNICAL INFORMATION
Use the most recent software version to prevent faults during coding.
The battery voltage must not undershoot 13.0 V during coding.
Only use chargers recommended by BMW for low-voltage vehicle electrical systems.

- Connect the battery charger to the vehicle.
- Connect the workshop system to the vehicle.
- Carry out vehicle test.
- Carry out the test module for steering wheel contact detection or the test module for steering wheel electronics.
- Encode the steering wheel electronics in the test module.
- Delete the fault memory.
- Disconnect the workshop system from the vehicle.
- Disconnect the battery charger from the vehicle.
