Installing bumper strip on the rear door

Preparing bonding surfaces for adhesive bonding with double-sided adhesive tape 

Precondition 

Component temperature of all components >18°C

• Clean bonding surfaces.

• Check if clips (1)  are present and check them for damage.

  Damaged or missing clips (1)  must be replaced.

• Clean bonding surfaces.
• Attach adhesive strips (2)  .

Installing components with double-sided adhesive tape 

Precondition 

Component temperature of all components >18°C

• Position components and press on.

  Press the adhesive areas firmly on the entire surface with your thumb or palm for 2 seconds.

  Optimal bonding to the surface is achieved after approx. 24 h. The adhesive bond must not be subjected to any mechanical stress beforehand (washing the vehicle, strength test, etc.).

• Detach the liner from the adhesive strips.
• Position bumper strip (1)  properly and engage it into clips (2)  .
• Press bumper strip (1)  firmly onto the adhesive strip in the area of the dotted lines.
