Installing the bumper strip on the front door

Preparing bonding surfaces for adhesive bonding with double-sided adhesive tape 

Precondition 

Component temperature of all components >18°C

• Clean bonding surfaces.

• Check the clips (1)  .

  Replace damaged or missing clips (1)  .

• Check foam seals (2)  and replace if necessary.
• Clean bonding surfaces.
• Attach adhesive strips (3)  .

Installing components with double-sided adhesive tape 

Precondition 

Component temperature of all components >18°C

• Position components and press on.

  Press the adhesive areas firmly on the entire surface with your thumb or palm for 2 seconds.

  Optimal bonding to the surface is achieved after approx. 24 h. The adhesive bond must not be subjected to any mechanical stress beforehand (washing the vehicle, strength test, etc.).

• Detach the liner from the adhesive strips.
• Position the bumper strip (1)  correctly and engage it at all clips.
• Firmly press the bumper strip (1)  onto the adhesive strips in the dotted lines area.
