- Any work must exclusively be carried out with an exhaust system that has cooled down.

Mount the exhaust system in a de-energized state, following the tightening sequence from the rear silencer towards the exhaust manifold.

Preliminary work
- Unlock the plug connection (1).
- Disconnect the plug connection (1) from the exhaust flap (2).
- Unlock the plug connection (1).
- Disconnect the plug connection (1) from the exhaust flap (2).
NOTE:
Schematic diagram is for example purposes. Some parts may differ in certain details.
- Use a suitable jack to secure the exhaust system (1) from falling down.
If the exhaust system is drained while under tension, there is the risk that the retaining bolts (2) will break.
- Loosen nuts (1).
- Loosen screw (1).
- Lower holder (2) of the exhaust bracket.
- Loosen screw (1).
- Lower holder (2) of the exhaust bracket.
- Variant with temperature sensors:
- Release the temperature sensors ahead of the gasoline particle filter (2).
- Release the temperature sensors after the gasoline particle filter (1).
- Version with RDE2:
Unclip connector (3) from the holder.
- Unlock plug connection (2) and disconnect.
- Unclip oxygen sensor cable (1) from the clamps.
- Unclip connector (3) from the holder.
- Unlock plug connection (2) and disconnect.
- Unclip oxygen sensor cable (1) from the clamps.
- Loosen union nut (3).
- Unclip the pressure line (2) from the holder (1).
- Loosen union nut (3).
- Unclip the pressure line (2) from the holder (1).
- Release nut (1).
- Release nuts (2).
- Release nut (1).
- Release nuts (2).
- Remove the exhaust system backwards.
- Version without RDE2:
Release nuts (1).
- Slide circlips (2) to the rear.
- Remove the exhaust system towards the rear.
