Remove front air suspension

- Adhere to the utmost cleanliness.
- Protect components from contamination e.g. by covering.
- Close off line connections with seal plugs.
Preliminary work
- Refer to CREATING A FAULT MEMORY PRINTOUT IN WARRANTY CASES .
- Refer to DEACTIVATING THE AIR SPRING SYSTEM .

- Refer to REMOVING THE FRONT LEFT WHEEL .
- Refer to DETACHING THE UPPER WISHBONE FROM THE SWIVEL BEARING .
- Refer to SECURING THE SWIVEL BEARING .
- Refer to RELEASING THE BRAKE HOSE AND CABLE .
- Refer to REMOVING SPRING STRUT HOLDER .
- Unlock and disconnect the plug connection (1) on the air suspension.
- Remove cable from holder (2).
Remove air line on front air suspension
CAUTION:
Residual pressure in the air suspension strut.
Injury hazard!

- The air suspension strut remains under a certain amount of residual pressure even after the pipe is disconnected.
- Do not disassemble the air suspension strut.

- Carefully slacken the banjo bolt (1) on the air suspension until you hear leaking air (hissing noise).
- Wait approx. 2 min until the pressure in the air spring system is completely relieved.
The hissing noise stops.
- Completely release the banjo bolt (1) with the air line from the air suspension after complete pressure reduction.
- Release the air line from the holders (2).

- Loosen screws (1).
- Guide out the air suspension (1) at cables (2) and (3).
- Remove the air suspension (1) toward the bottom.
