Removing The Engine Compartment Lid Hinge, Right
WARNING:
Working on 12 V electrical system.

- Make sure that there is no charger connected to the jump start terminal in the engine compartment.
- Detach battery ground lead from battery.
- For auxiliary batteries: Detach battery minus cables from all auxiliary batteries.
Preliminary work
- Refer to 6100... NOTES FOR DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING THE VEHICLE BATTERY (ALL X5 MODELS, 2019-2022) .
- Refer to REMOVING THE JET CHAIN PARTIALLY .
- Refer to REMOVE HOOD .
- Refer to REMOVE THE COVER OF THE REAR RIGHT ENGINE COMPARTMENT .
- Refer to REMOVE ACTUATOR ON THE HOOD HINGE .
- Open lock (1) at top and detach gas spring (2).
- Unclip jet chain (1) with holder (2) from hood hinge.
- Unclip holder (3) from engine compartment lid hinge.
- Unclip the cable clip (1).
- Release screws (2) and take off hood hinge (3).
