Preparing New Parts
Preparing the left side member
- Position the new parts and prepare for welding in areas (1).
- Adjust new parts to fit with alignment bracket or universal fixture and secure.
- Prepare the new parts for welding in the areas (1).
- Adjust the new parts and prepare for welding in areas (1).

Preparing the left luggage compartment floor
NOTE: TECHNICAL INFORMATION
Adhesive technology in the area of the outer skin (not for structural adhesion):
The bonding surfaces of the new parts may not sharpened or ground.
For more information see: 41 00... BMW bonding instructions - Mark the separating cut (1) on the new part according to the separating cut (2) on the vehicle + 20 mm added material and cut.
- Adjust new part together with the tail panel and secure.
- Prepare the joints in areas (1) and (2) using the bonded rivet method.
- In areas (1) and (2), set 8 bores 0 4.2 mm for the blind rivet.
Area Number 1 5 2 3 - Prepare area (1) for joining by glue rivet method.
- In area (1), set 6 bores 0 4.2 mm for the blind rivet.
- Prepare area (1) for joining by bonded rivet method.
- In area (1), set a bore 0 4.2 mm for the blind rivet.
- Remove new component. Deburr bores.
Preparing center luggage compartment floor
- Adjust the new parts in combination with the tail panel to fit and secure.
- Prepare area (1) for joining using welding.NOTE: Perform the steps on the left and right side.
- Prepare area (1) for joining using welding.

- Prepare areas (1) and (2) for joining using welding.
Replacing the coarse thread bolt and threaded weld bolts (steel surface)
NOTE: Schematic diagram is for example purposes. Some parts may differ in certain details. - Renew the coarse thread bolt (1) and the threaded weld bolt (2).
Parts : Coarse thread bolt, threaded weld bolt
Take the number and position from the component to be replaced or the add-ons.
- Weld the coarse thread bolt (1) and threaded weld bolt (2) onto the new part.
Check ground pins and replace if necessary
