- Carry out separation cut only on outer component. Do not tap the underlying component.
- While removing the adhesive, do not tap the underlying component.
- Mark the separating cuts (1) according to the schematic diagram and carry out the cuts.
Only disconnect the outer panel; do not damage the underlying CFRP pipe.
- Release welded connections in areas (2).NOTE: TECHNICAL INFORMATION
For additional information see: 41 00... Releasing bonded connections - Open spot-welded adhesive joints in areas (3).
- Release bonded connection in area (4).
- Release and remove the A-pillar outer part from the cavity sealing (5).
- Mark the separating cuts (1) according to the schematic diagram and carry out the cuts.
- Release welded connections in areas (2).
- Open spot-welded adhesive joints in areas (3).
- Remove section (4).

- Release welded connections in areas (1).
- Open spot-welded adhesive joints in areas (2).
- Release and remove the A-pillar from the cavity sealing (3).
While doing so, do not damage the CFRP pipe (4).
- Open the welded connections in area (1) and remove the reinforcement (2).
- Release the spot-welded adhesive joints in the areas (3) and remove the bulkhead (4).
While doing so, do not damage the adjacent bonded connections (5).
- Mark the severance cut (1) on the reinforcement (2) according to the dimension.
Dimension (a) = 120 mm from the separating edge of the outer side sill
- Carry out the marking for the severance cut so that the separating cut lies on the level of the (3) surface of the inner side sill (4).NOTE: TECHNICAL INFORMATION
For additional accessibility, an aperture needs to be cut out for this separating cut.
The removed aperture is reused upon installation. - Mark and perform the separating cut (1) in accordance with the specified dimensions.
Dimension (a) = 10 mm from the component edge of the inner side sill
Dimension (b) = choose in accordance with the severance tool.
- Remove aperture (2).
- Mark and perform the separating cut (1) in accordance with the specified dimensions.
Dimension (a) = 15 mm from the component edge of the inner side sill
Dimension (b) = choose in accordance with the severance tool.
- Remove aperture (2).
- Carry out the separating cut (1) on the door sill reinforcement (2) according to the prior marking.
Do not damage the inner side sill (3) during this process.
- Open welded connections in area (1).
- Release the welded connections in areas (2) with a belt sander.NOTE: TECHNICAL INFORMATION
The tension must be maintained on the bonded component to be able to loosen bonded connection. - Weld the pull-off plate (1) to the door sill reinforcement (2).
- Fasten the tensioning clamp to the tensioning panel (1).
- Keep the door sill reinforcement (2) under tension using a straightening tool.NOTE: TECHNICAL INFORMATION
For additional information see: 41 00... Releasing bonded connections - Release the bonded connections in areas (1) and (2) and remove the door sill reinforcement.
