Installing the speaker cover on the rear door trim panel
NOTE:
Description is for left component only. Procedure on the right side is identical.
- Saw off all welding pins (1) along the molding (2) .
Refit speaker cover
Speaker cover (installation)
- With a support person, pull the door pocket (1) away from the support (2) until the welding pin (3) is completely pulled out of the support (2) .
- During the installation of the speaker cover, insert the special tool 0 496 289 (00 9 341)
as shown.
This makes the installation of the speaker cover easier and prevents damage.
- Very carefully feed in the speaker cover at the door trim panel and the welding pin (3)
and install.
The speaker cover must be fed in very carefully to avoid damaging the door pocket.
- Remove the adhesive tape in area (4) .
- Remove the adhesive tape (2)
from the door pocket (1)
and the entire area of the speaker cover (3)
.
- Correctly put the upper section of the door pocket (1) back in the area of the speaker cover (2) .
- Engage the detents on the rear by pressing in the area (3)
.
- Check the detents (1)
.
The detents (1) must lock correctly.
Installing the repair screws
Spot-welds or attachment points
Arrow Spot-welds (removal) or attachment points (installation)
- Insert and tighten the repair screws at the attachment points (arrows).
TIGHTENING TORQUE SPECIFICATION

- Tighten the screws (1) .
