Remounting during replacement of the trim panel for the storage box
Prerequisite
- Rear seat backrests are folded down.
Preliminary work
- Refer to REMOVING LEFT AND RIGHT BACKREST SIDE SECTION .
- Refer to REMOVING BOTH C-PILLAR TRIM PANELS .
- Refer to REMOVE THE TRIM PANEL FOR THE STORAGE SHELF .
Remove rear mid-range speaker
- Unclip the cover (1) with the special tool 0 496 571 (00 9 327) upwards and out of the detents (2) .
- Remove the cover (1)
from the storage box (3)

- Loosen screws (1) .
- Lift the mid-range speaker (2)
slightly.
- Unlock and disconnect plug connections (1) .
- Remove the mid-range speaker (2) .
Remove rear tweeter
- Loosen screws (1) .
- Guide out and remove the tweeter (2) with the cable.
Installing the rear tweeter
- Feed in the tweeter (2) with the cable and position correctly.
- Tighten down screws (1) .
TIGHTENING TORQUE SPECIFICATION

Installing the rear mid-range speaker
- Position the mid-range speaker (2) .
- Connect connectors (1)
and lock.
- Correctly position the mid-range speaker (2) .
- Tighten down screws (1)
.TIGHTENING TORQUE SPECIFICATION
Speaker to rear shelf/support/head restraint Screw Tightening torque 1.8 Nm - Correctly position the cover (1) on the storage shelf (3) .
- Clip in the cover (1) with the detents (2) in the storage shelf (3) .
NOTE:
The description is for one component only. The procedure is identical for all further components.
- Detach the trim (1) with the special tool 0 493 681 (64 1 020) on the detents (2) and feed out from the front.
