61 31 342 Removing and installing/replacing gear selector switch

IMPORTANT:
Read and comply with notes on protection against electrostatic damage (ESD PROTECTION) .
Preliminary work needed:
- Refer to CLAMPING OFF BATTERY LEAD FROM NEGATIVE CONNECTION POINT .
- Refer to REMOVING STEERING COLUMN CONTROL PANEL .
Unscrew the screws (1).
Tightening torque 61 31 1AZ .
Remove gear selector switch (2) in arrow direction.
Unlock and disconnect plug connection (1) at gear selector switch (2).
Replacement:
Carry out VEHICLE PROGRAMMING/CODING .
