Installing the heat exchanger for the coolant
- When replacing the heat exchanger:
Remount the coolant hose (2).
- Guide the heat exchanger (5) in together with the coolant hose (2) and install.
- Connect the coolant line to the heat exchanger and fasten the spring strap clamp (4).
- Connect and lock the coolant hose (3) below the heat exchanger.
- Connect the coolant hose (2) with the T-piece.
- If necessary, replace clamp (1).

- Fasten clamp (1).
- Replace screws (1).

- Tighten down screws (1).
- Position the grounding cable (2).

- Observe the safety requirements for potential equalization screw connection.
- Clean contact faces and have then checked by a second person.
- Tighten the screws/nuts for equipotential bonding with torque; have a second person check the torque.
- Correct execution of this work must be documented by both persons in the vehicle records.
- Tighten down screw (1).
- Position both coolant hoses.
- Connect the coolant hose (2) to the range extender electrical machine electronics (REME) and lock.
- Connect the coolant hose (1) to the heat exchanger and lock.
