51 16 165 Removing and installing/replacing complete center console

When working on trim panel components, make sure that visible surfaces are not scratched or damaged (e.g. by sharp-edged tools).

Preliminary work needed: 

• Refer to REMOVING FRONT CENTER CONSOLE TRIM .
• Refer to REMOVING REAR CENTER CONSOLE COVER .
• Refer to REMOVING COVER FOR STORAGE COMPARTMENT .

Unscrew nuts (1).

Tightening torque 51 16 8AZ .

Unfasten cable tie (2).

Unscrew nuts (1).

Tightening torque 51 16 8AZ .

Lift out center console (1) upwards.

When replacing, remount the following parts depending on the version: 

• SIDE TRIMS ON CENTER CONSOLE .
• CENTER ARMREST .
• TRIM ON CUP HOLDER .
