Remove the heat exchanger for the coolant
Precondition
- The battery chargers are disconnected.
Trunk lid is open.
Ignition is switched off.
Vehicle has gone to sleep (rest state).

TECHNICAL INFORMATION
Make sure the vehicle has gone to sleep before de-energizing the high-voltage system.
Observe a waiting period of at least 2 minutes.

Preliminary work

- Refer to DRAINING THE COOLANT FOR THE LOW-TEMPERATURE COOLANT CIRCUIT OF THE DRIVE .
- Refer to DRAINING COOLANT FOR THE HIGH-TEMPERATURE COOLANT CIRCUIT OF THE RANGE EXTENDER .
- Unlock the coolant hose (1) and disconnect it from the heat exchanger.
- Unlock the coolant hose (2) and disconnect it from the range extender electrical machine electronics (REME).
- Set both coolant hoses aside.
- Loosen screw (1).
- Set the grounding cable (2) aside.
- Loosen screws (1).
- Unfasten clamp (1).
- Disconnect the coolant hose (2) from the T-piece.
- Unlock and disconnect the coolant hose (3) below the heat exchanger
- Detach the spring strap clamp (4) and disconnect the coolant line from the heat exchanger.
- Feed out and remove the heat exchanger (5) together with the coolant hose (2).
