Remove the right D-pillar trim panel

Preliminary work

Refer to REMOVING REAR RIGHT END STRAP FITTING FOR THE 3RD ROW OF SEATS ON THE BODY .

NOTE: Description is for left component only. Procedure on the right side is identical.

Remove the D-pillar trim panel

WARNING: Airbag unit .
Danger! Immobilization period-threatening injuries!

Before performing any work on the airbag, always disconnect the battery ground lead from the battery.
Airbag unit may only be set down with the cushion (airbag itself) facing upwards.

Danger! Immobilization period-threatening injuries!

All work on pyrotechnic parts may be carried out by technically experienced am appropriately trained personnel only.
Replace any damaged part or ones that have been dropped.

Lever out the cover panel (1) from the D-pillar trim panel (3) with a suitable tool.
Release screw underneath.
Release the D-pillar trim panel (3) at the clips (2) and feed out.
