Removing positive battery cables
WARNING:

- Make sure that there is no charger connected to the jump start terminal in the engine compartment.
- Detach battery ground lead from battery.
- For auxiliary batteries: Detach battery minus cables from all auxiliary batteries.

- Detach battery terminal from battery pole by carefully shifting to and fro. Do not pry off using a tool.

- Do not pull on wires when disconnecting connectors and plug connections.

- Leave the electrical components in their original packaging until they are being installed. Only use the original packaging for returning the product. Always package removed components straight away.
- Read and comply with user information on using the associated special tool 12 7 060.
- Only tap the housings of electrical components. Do not tap pins or multi-pin connectors directly.
- Wear electrically conductive clothing and antistatic shoes (with ESD symbol).

- Unlock the locks (1).
- Feed the cover panel (2) out to the top and remove.
- Loosen nuts (1).
- Thread out the positive battery cables (2) and set aside.
- Remove cover (1).
- Loosen nut (2).
- Disconnect positive battery cable from alternator.
- Unlock plug connection (3) and disconnect.
- Feed out positive battery cable and remove.
- Unclip the transmission wiring harness (1).
- Loosen screws (2).
- Release the wiring harness of the integrated supply module (4) at the fixations (3).
- Release the wiring harness mounting (5).
- Loosen screw (1).
- Release the wiring harness mountings (2).
- Place the wiring harness (3) on the side.
NOTE:
To provide a better overview: Illustration of surrounding parts removed.
- Loosen screw (1).
- Release the nut (3).
- Lay the grounding point (5) to one side.
- Loosen screw (4).
- Release the clip (2).
- Unlock connector (1) and disconnect it from starter motor.
- Loosen nut (1).
- Disconnect positive battery cable from starter motor.
- Disconnect the positive battery cable from the terminal (2) and set it aside.
