Adjusting the striker for the tailgate latch

Preliminary work

Refer to REMOVING THE COVER ON THE STRIKER FOR THE TAILGATE LATCH .

NOTE: TECHNICAL INFORMATION

Slacken the bolts (1) until the striker (2) is barely adjustable and self-centers itself.
Close trunk lid.
Open trunk lid.
Tighten the screws (1).

NOTE: When the trunk lid is closed, the striker must not tap or scrape against the tailgate lock. Watch out for scratches!

TIGHTENING TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS

Striker to rear lid
screw	Tightening torque	19 Nm

Close the trunk lid and check the gap dimension.
If applicable, repeat the adjustment procedure.
