Risk of fire! Danger of explosion!
- When working on the fuel system, make sure the workstation has sufficient ventilation, e.g., by means of extraction.
- Tightly seal off open lines and connections; collect any leakage fuel directly at the point of exit.
- No fire, sparks, open flames or smoking.
CAUTION:
On releasing high pressure line, fuel may emerge at high speed
.

- Have the adapter for the spark plug thread (60) (1)
ready.
- Screw in the adapter for the spark plug thread (60) (1)
into the spark plug thread by hand.
- Tighten the adapter for the spark plug thread (60) (1)
with a standard tool (2)
.
- Connect the OT finder (1)

The OT finder from the special tool 2 302 630 absolutely must be vertical, otherwise the measurement result can be falsified. - Fit special tool 0 493 380 (11 6 480) .
- Turn the engine by hand with the special tool 0 493 380 (11 6 480)
.
If the piston goes upwards, the bubble level (2) in the cylinder tube (1) also goes upward in the arrow direction .
- Turn the piston to TDC
.
At TDC, both the piston and bubble level (2) are at the highest point in the cylinder tube (1) .
» Valves are closed.
- Make sure the engine does not turn further.
