Removing the bracket for the DME control unit

- Make sure that there is no charger connected to the jump start terminal in the engine compartment.
- Detach battery ground lead from battery.
- For auxiliary batteries: Detach battery minus cables from all auxiliary batteries.
NOTE:

Damage to battery terminal, the safety battery terminal or the intelligent battery sensor (IBS) .

- Detach battery terminal from battery pole by carefully shifting to and fro. Do not pry off using a tool.

- Leave the electrical components in their original packaging until they are being installed. Only use the original packaging for returning the product. Always package removed components straight away.
- Read and comply with user information on using the associated special tool 12 7 060.
- Only tap the housings of electrical components. Do not tap pins or multi-pin connectors directly.
- Wear electrically conductive clothing and antistatic shoes (with ESD symbol).

If control units are disconnected, fault memory entries and functional limitations may occur.
The fault memory entries must be read out and, if necessary, deleted.

- Unlock and disconnect plug connections (1).
- Unlock and disconnect plug connections (1).
- Unlock plug connection (1) and disconnect.
- Unlock plug connection (1) and disconnect.
- Unlock plug connection (2) and disconnect.
- Loosen the cable clip (3).
- Loosen the holder (1).
- Feed out coolant line (2) and place to one side.
- Loosen the cable clip (3).
- Release the cable bracket (1) from the bracket (2).
- Unlock the locks (1).
- Guide out and remove DME control unit (2).
- Unlock lock (1).
- Slide out and remove the integrated power supply module (PDM) (2).
- Loosen screw (1).
- Feed out holder (2) for the DME control unit.
- Raise the holder, (3) for the DME control unit carefully .
- Loosen the holder (1).
- Feed out coolant line (2) and place to one side.
- Unlock the lock (1).
- Feed out the connector (2) in the direction of arrow and remove.
- Release cable clip (1) from the strut (2).
- Rotate the bracket for the DME control unit.
- Unlock the connector (1) from below and disconnect it.
- Loosen the cable clip (2).
- Feed out and remove the bracket for the DME control unit.
