Remove the trim from the side panel

Preliminary work
- Refer to REMOVING THE FRONT WHEEL ARCH TRIM .
- Refer to REMOVING REAR WHEEL ARCH TRIM .
- Refer to REMOVING THE REAR DOOR .
Precondition
Front door is open.
NOTE:

- Mask those working areas at risk with yellow plastic adhesive tape.
- Remove and install heavy or bulky components with the aid of another person/other persons.
- Loosen screws (1).
- Loosen nuts (2).
- Unclip clips (3).
- Slightly heat the trim (4) in the area (1) with a hot air blower and release it from the adhesive strips in the area (1).
- Release the trim (4) at the clips (2) and (3).
- Do not remove the trim (4) yet, as it is removed together with the door sill trim panel.
- Use a suitable plastic wedge to carefully release the door sill trim panel (1) from the detents along the dotted line (2) and guide out with the trim (3) towards the front.
If necessary, unlock respective plug connection and disconnect.
- Disengage and remove the trim (1) at the snap-in lugs (2).
