Installing the airbag control unit
WARNING:

- Before working on the airbag, disconnect the negative battery cable from the battery.
- Airbag unit may only be set down with the cushion (airbag itself) facing upwards.

- Leave the electrical components in their original packaging until they are being installed. Only use the original packaging for returning the product. Always package removed components straight away.
- Read and comply with user information on using the associated special tool 12 7 060.
- Only tap the housings of electrical components. Do not tap pins or multi-pin connectors directly.
- Wear electrically conductive clothing and antistatic shoes (with ESD symbol).

- Position airbag control unit (3) correctly.
- Tighten nuts (2).

- Connect connectors (1) and lock.
Install drip protection cover on airbag control unit
NOTE:

If the component described below has not been installed as yet, it should be retrofitted.

NOTE:
The variant with adhesive strips found during removal has changed and is not taken into account during installation.
- Pull the cable (1) back a little in the direction of the arrow and position it next to the cable duct (2).
- Attach cover (1) to airbag control unit (2) as shown.
The cover (1) serves as drip protection and must completely cover the plug connections of the control unit (2).
- Make sure that the cover (1) rests against the cable ducts (3) and (4) in the marked areas.
