- When working on the fuel system, make sure the workstation has sufficient ventilation, e.g., by means of extraction.
- Tightly seal off open lines and connections; collect any leakage fuel directly at the point of exit.
- No fire, sparks, open flames or smoking.
CAUTION:
On releasing high pressure line, fuel may emerge at high speed.

- Wear suitable personal protective equipment.
- Before performing any installation work, allow cooling system to cool down to less than 40°C.
- Note warnings on cylinder head cover.

- Leave the electrical components in their original packaging until they are being installed. Only use the original packaging for returning the product. Always package removed components straight away.
- Read and comply with user information on using the associated special tool 12 7 060.
- Only tap the housings of electrical components. Do not tap pins or multi-pin connectors directly.
- Wear electrically conductive clothing and antistatic shoes (with ESD symbol).

- Adhere to the utmost cleanliness.
- Protect components from contamination e.g. by covering.
- Close off line connections with seal plugs.

Damage to the ignition coil.
The silicone hose of the ignition coil must not be contaminated by fuel as this can lead to failure of the ignition coil.

- When working on the fuel system, cover the ignition coils with suitable materials and remove where required.
- Do not oil or grease the silicone tube of the spark plug socket. Do not use any protection or maintenance products (e.g. silicone spray, rubber care products, rust remover, etc.).
- Unlock and disconnect plug connection (1) from fuel low-pressure sensor (2).
- Position open-end wrench (1) on the square pipe of the fuel supply line and provide counter support to it.
- Cover the ignition coil with a lint-free cloth.
- Release fuel low-pressure sensor (2) using special tool 0 491 318 (13 5 320) .
- Collect any leaking fuel with a lint-free cloth.
- Remove fuel low-pressure sensor (2).
