Removing bottom catalytic converters of cylinders 1 through 4 and 5 through 8

TECHNICAL INFORMATION
Mount the exhaust system in a de-energized state, following the tightening sequence from the rear silencer towards the exhaust manifold.

- Any work must exclusively be carried out with an exhaust system that has cooled down.
NOTE:
RISK OF DAMAGE
Damage to the gasoline particulate filter .
Forcibly removing, installing or dropping the gasoline particulate filter down will damage it .

Forcibly removing, installing or dropping the gasoline particulate filter down will damage it .
- Remove and install the gasoline particulate filter without damaging it and without applying external force.
- Avoid impacts/knocks to the gasoline particulate filter (e.g. by tools, falling down, hard contact with base).
- Loosen screws (1) to (3).
- Remove screws (arrows).
- Feed out and remove the thrust field (4) in the area (5) of the wheel arch trim panel.
- Remove screws (arrows).
- Feed out and remove the underbody protection (1).
- Loosen the nuts (1).
- Remove the heat shield (2).
- Release nuts (1) on bottom catalytic converter near engine (2).
- Release screws (1) on bottom catalytic converter near engine (2).
- Remove the seal (1).
- Feed out bottom catalytic converter near engine (2) and remove.
- Loosen the nuts (1).
- Remove the heat shield (2).
- Release nuts (1) on bottom catalytic converter near engine (2).
- Release screws (1) on bottom catalytic converter near engine (2).
- Remove the seal (1).
- Feed out bottom catalytic converter near engine (2) and remove.
