• 11 31 Camshaft
  • 11 31 052 Replacing both timing chains (X5 M50i, 2020-)
    • Removing both timing chains and installing or replacing them
  • 11 31 070 Check camshaft timing on left side (X5 M50i, 2020-)
    • Check the VANOS adjuster of cylinder bank 2
    • Check timing of cylinder bank 2
    • Remove the special tools to disconnect the crankshaft
  • 11 31 071 Check camshaft timing on right side (X5 M50i, 2020-)
    • Checking the VANOS adjuster of cylinder bank 1
    • Check the timing of cylinder bank 1
    • Remove the special tools to disconnect the crankshaft
  • 11 31 094 Removing and installing/replacing the left hydraulic chain tensioner (X5 M50i, 2020-)
    • Slackening the chain tensioner of cylinder bank 2
    • Removing hydraulic chain tensioner of cylinder bank 2
    • Installing the hydraulic chain tensioner of cylinder bank 2
  • 11 31 095 Removing and installing/replacing the hydraulic chain tensioner on the right (X5 M50i, 2020-)
    • Slackening the chain tensioner of cylinder bank 1
    • Removing hydraulic chain tensioner of cylinder bank 1
    • Installing the hydraulic chain tensioner of cylinder bank 1
  • 11 31 005 Check the timing of the camshaft(s) (X5 xDrive 45e, 2021-)
    • Checking the timings of the camshaft
  • 11 31 025 Removing and installing/replacing intake camshaft (X5 xDrive 45e, 2021-)
    • Remove intake camshaft
    • When replacing intake camshaft: Remount camshaft sensor wheel
    • Install intake camshaft
  • 11 31 028 Removing and installing/replacing exhaust camshaft (X5 xDrive 45e, 2021-)
    • Remove exhaust camshaft
    • Install exhaust camshaft
  • 11 31 051 Replacing the timing chain (X5 xDrive 45e, 2021-)
    • Removing timing chain
    • Installing timing chain
  • 11 31 090 Remove and install/replace chain tensioner piston (X5 xDrive 45e, 2021-)
    • Removing chain tensioner
    • Install chain tensioner
  • 11 31 505 Adjusting the timing of the camshaft(s) (for work no. 11 31 005/508) (X5 xDrive 45e, 2021-)
    • Adjust the timing of the camshaft
    • Installing the VANOS central valve of the exhaust camshaft adjuster
    • Installing the VANOS central valve of the intake adjuster
    • Pre-tensioning the timing chain with the special tool
    • Tightening the VANOS central valve of the exhaust camshaft adjuster
    • Tightening the VANOS central valve of the intake adjuster
