Removing the lambda oxygen sensor

Preliminary work

Refer to REMOVING THE ACOUSTIC COVER .
Refer to REMOVING THE RIGHT TENSION STRUT ON THE SHOCK TOWER .
Refer to REMOVING THE INTAKE FILTER HOUSING (TENSION STRUT ON SHOCK TOWER REMOVED) .
Refer to REMOVING CLEAN AIR PIPE AND RESONATOR .

Perform all work only on components that have cooled down.

NOTE: RISK OF DAMAGE
Damage to wires when disconnecting connectors and plug connections .
Sheared wires can cause a short circuit .

Do not pull on wires when disconnecting connectors and plug connections.

NOTE: The cable of the Lambda oxygen sensor is black. The installation location of the Lambda oxygen sensor is in front of the catalytic converter.

Unlock and release the plug connection (1).

Unlock and release the lock (1) with a standard screw driver (2).
Guide out the connector (3) in the direction of the arrow and set it aside.

Release the line of the Lambda oxygen sensor (1) from the holder (2).
Release cable tie (3).
Guide out the heat protection shield (4) in the direction of the arrow and set it aside.

Release and remove the Lambda oxygen sensor (1) with the special tool 0 491 074 (11 7 020) .
