Install bottom tailgate trim panel
- Release the lower tailgate trim panel (1) of the cover for the trunk lid lock (2) at the detents (arrows) and disconnect from one another.
- Check detents and guides.
They must not be damaged or missing.
- Install the cover for the trunk lid lock (1) and clip in at the clips (2).
NOTE:
Perform the steps on the right and left side.
- Remove the welding residues in the area of rubber cover (2) at the bottom tailgate trim panel.
- Replace the rubber cover (2).

- Install the rubber cover (2) in the bottom tailgate trim panel and position it correctly.
- Fix the rubber cover (2) with the super glue on to the points (1).
- Install the lower tailgate trim panel (1) and feed in carefully at the striker.
Ensure that the rubber covers (3) do not pull off from the tailgate trim panel .
- Feed in the lower tailgate trim panel (1) carefully at the cover for the trunk lid lock and lock.
- Engage the lower tailgate trim panel (1) at the clips (2).
