Removing the window channel strip on the outside of the front door

Preliminary work
- Refer to REMOVING THE MIRROR TRIANGLE COVER .
- Refer to REMOVING FRONT DOOR TRIM PANEL .
- Refer to REMOVING THE EXTERIOR MIRROR ON THE FRONT DOOR .
Prerequisite
The door window glass is open.
NOTE:
Schematic diagram is for example purposes. Some parts may differ in certain details.
- Insert the special tool 0 495 484 (00 9 324) at the front (on A-pillar) into the window cavity and slide it toward the back.
- Position the special tool 0 495 484 (00 9 324)
as shown at the lower edge of the window channel strip (1) with the short shank (2).
- Place the special tool 0 490 538 (00 9 321) on the inner door panel.
- Thread a suitable tool (1) through the opening in the special tool 0 495 484 (00 9 324) .

- Protect working area.
- Handle tools and components carefully.
- Lift up the rear window channel strip (2) with the special tool 2 298 505 as shown; maximum 5 mm.
- Use a suitable tool (1) to support the special tool 0 490 538 (00 9 321)
and move the lever in the direction of the arrow.
When this happens, the special tool 0 495 484 (00 9 324) lifts the window channel strip (2) upwards.
- Repeat this process step by step until the window channel strip (2) is completely removed.
