- Support hood/trunk lid in fully open position with the aid of a suitable device.
NOTE:
Description is for left component only. Procedure on the right side is identical.

- Disassemble the ball sockets.
Observe disassembly sequence:
- Use the screwdriver to slide the clamp in the direction of the groove.
- Lift off the ball socket from the ball hub.
- Push back the clamp.
- Detach the ball socket from the ball hub.
- Remove gas pressure spring for hood (1).
