Remove the front intake pipe

- Make sure that there is no charger connected to the jump start terminal in the engine compartment.
- Detach battery ground lead from battery.
- For auxiliary batteries: Detach battery minus cables from all auxiliary batteries.

- Detach battery terminal from battery pole by carefully shifting to and fro. Do not pry off using a tool.

TECHNICAL INFORMATION
When the engine is stopped after the completion of trip, it may be necessary to run the electric fan. In rare cases, operation of the electric fan can last up to 11 min. This protects the components. In this case, replacing the electric fan will not remedy the problem!

- Refer to DISCONNECTING ALL BATTERY GROUND LEADS .
- Refer to REMOVING TRAILING LINK AT SPRING BOLT .
- Refer to REMOVING THE ENGINE CONTROL UNIT COVER .
- Refer to REMOVING THE BRACKET FOR THE DME CONTROL UNIT .

- Wear safety goggles and protective gloves when disconnecting the refrigerant line.
- Close the refrigerant lines with seal plugs.
- Unlock and disconnect plug connection (1) to alternator (2).
- If applicable, remove coolant hose (1) from the holder (2) and push it to the side.
- Unlock plug connection (3) and disconnect.
- Slide the coolant hose (1) slightly to the side.
- Loosen screw (2).
- Place intake pipe (3) aside.
- Loosen screw (1).
- Feed out and remove the intake pipe (2).
