Relieving tension on coil spring
- Slacken coil spring (1) using special tool 2 213 022 (31 3 340) .
- Check the position of the top and bottom coil spring ends on the spring pads and, if necessary, correct it.NOTE: TECHNICAL INFORMATION
Non-compliance will result in a significant impairment of handling. - After the coil spring is released, the laser beam must point at the predefined mark on special tool 2 450 246 .
- Remove special tool 2 450 246
and laser along with the securing tool.
- Loosen screw (1).
- Expand spring strut holder (2) with special tool 2 414 636 .
- Remove the spring strut holder (2) from the spring strut (3) in the arrow direction.
- Align spring strut support bearing with spring pad (2) (1) on limit stop with the top end of coil spring.
- Align spring pad (1) on limit stop on bottom end of coil spring (2).
- Pay attention to alignment of the spring strut support bearing to the solenoid valve (1) on the rear spring strut.

- Align the rear spring strut (1) as shown with the solenoid valve (2) to the marking on the spring strut support bearing (3).
- Release the coil spring tension until dimension (A) is reached on the special tool 2 213 022 (31 3 340)

Dimension (A) = 150 mm
- Make sure that the coil spring ends on the top and bottom are resting flat against the spring pad.
- Check alignment of the spring strut support bearing to the solenoid valve (1) on the rear spring strut; correct if necessary.
