Removing rear door window glass
NOTE:
Description is for left component only. Procedure on the right side is identical.
Preliminary work
- Refer to REMOVING THE OUTER WINDOW CHANNEL STRIP AT THE REAR DOOR .
- Refer to REMOVING REAR DOOR TRIM .
- Refer to REMOVING THE COVER ON THE INSIDE OF THE WINDOW FRAME AT THE REAR .

Prerequisite
The door window glass is fully shut.
NOTE:
Schematic diagram is for example purposes. Some parts may differ in certain details.
- Secure the door window glass to the door frame when it is closed using adhesive tape at top.
- Spread the holder (1) on the door window glass with the special tool 0 496 569 (00 9 325) (2) and unlock.
- Move the power window all the way down.
- Feed out remove the adhesive tape and take out the door window glass to the top.

- Cut out the protective plate carefully using special tool 2 326 501 and an approx. 50 cm-long cutting wire.
- Remove the adhesive bead from the protective plate and the body using a glass scraper from special tool 0 410 436.

- Remove the adhesive bead from the protective plate and the body using a glass scraper from special tool 0 410 436.
- Detach rubber seal (1) from the window frame trim.
- Heat window frame trim (1) carefully with a hot air blower and release it from the adhesive strip using special tool 0 496 571 (00 9 327) .
- Remove the adhesive bead from the window frame trim and the body using a glass scraper from special tool 0 410 436.
- Heat trim (1) carefully with a hot air blower and release it from the adhesive strip using special tool 0 496 571 (00 9 327) .
- Remove adhesive residue.
- Remove clamps (1).
- Cut through rubber window seal (1) along dotted lines (2) with a suitable knife.
- Release and remove rubber window seal (1) outwards from the door frame.
- Only in vehicles from production date: May 2020
- A small hook is placed in the adhesive bead in the marked area. This hook can be used to pull the cutting wire through the adhesive bead.
- Pierce the adhesive bead from the outside to the inside in area (1) with the line threader from special tool 2 357 248.
- Pull out the line threader again, marking the point of piercing.
- Guide the cutting wire through the marked point with the help of the line threader.
- Cut through the adhesive bead with the cutting wire in the arrow direction with the help of special tool 2 326 501.
- Fit special tool 2 296 987 with a long knife as shown.
- Carefully cut through the adhesive bead along the dotted line using special tool 2 296 987.
- Press side window (1) carefully outwards in the upper area.
- Cut through the adhesive bead carefully in the lower corners using a glass scraper from special tool 0 410 436.
- Remove side window (1) using special tool 2 184 377.
- Remove the adhesive bead from the side window and the body using a glass scraper from special tool 0 410 436.
Do not scratch the side window in the process .
