Replacing selector lever trim
Preliminary work
- Refer to DEACTIVATING THE 48 V ELECTRICAL SYSTEM .
- Refer to DISCONNECTING ALL BATTERY GROUND LEADS .
- Refer to REMOVING THE CARPET ON THE CENTER CONSOLE ON THE LEFT AND RIGHT SIDES .
- Refer to REMOVING THE CENTER CONSOLE TRIM .

- Refer to REMOVING THE OPERATING FACILITY IN THE CENTER CONSOLE .

Removing selector lever trim

- Protect surfaces from damage.
NOTE:
The operations shown only for one side must be carried out on both sides.
- Lever out the chrome inlay (1) with special tool 0 493 681 (64 1 020) from the selector lever (2).
- Lever out the button (1) with a flathead screwdriver in the marked area.
- Slightly raise the button (1) and guide out in the direction of the arrow.
- Replace the selector lever cap.

Only on right-hand drive vehicle: Remove unlock-button
NOTE:

- Remove left unlock-button (1).
- Remove left switch control (1).
- Remove the left switch mat (1).
- Install right switch mat (1).
- Install right switch control (1).
- Prepare unlock-button for right-hand drive vehicle.

- Install right unlock-button (1).
- Feed in unlock button (1) in the direction of the arrow in the marked area.
- Fold in unlock button (1) and engage in the marked area.
- Position and clip in chrome wedge trim (1) on the selector lever (2).
