Adjusting Both Bottom Tailgate Hinges

Preliminary work

NOTE: RISK OF DAMAGE
Damage to the spindle drive.
Shifting the trunk lid manually can damage the spindle drive.

Only shift trunk lid slowly hand force.

NOTE: TECHNICAL INFORMATION

NOTE: Perform the steps on the left and right side.

Fold the insulation (1) to the side.
Remove the seal plug (2).

Slacken the nuts (1) until the trunk lid hinge can be moved.
Adjust the trunk lid hinge (1) until the bottom part of the trunk lid has the specified gap dimension to the adjacent components.

Tighten nuts (1).

TIGHTENING TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS

Hinge of lower section of tailgate to body
Combination hexagon nut M8
	tightening torque 19 Nm

Check

Check the gap dimensions (arrowed) between trunk lid and adjacent components.

» Gap dimensions do not correspond to the specifications.

Measure
- Adjust tailgate hinge.
NOTE: Perform the steps on the left and right side.
Fold the insulation (1) to the side.
Install seal plug (2).
