Adjusting Both Tailgate Hinges

Prerequisite

Lower section of tailgate is adjusted.

NOTE: RISK OF DAMAGE
Damage to the spindle drive.
Shifting the trunk lid manually can damage the spindle drive.

Only shift trunk lid slowly hand force.

Remove the seal plug (1) and sealing cap (2).

Slacken nuts (1) until the tailgate hinge can be shifted.

Shift the tailgate hinge (1) until the tailgate has the specified gap dimension to the adjacent components.

Tighten nuts (1).

TIGHTENING TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS

Hinge of upper section of tailgate to body
Combination hexagon nut
	tightening torque 56 Nm

Check

Check the gap dimensions (arrowed) between trunk lid and adjacent components.

» Gap dimensions do not correspond to the specifications.

Measure
- Adjust tailgate hinge.
Install the seal plug (1) and the sealing cap (2).
