Installing the steering wheel (sports steering wheel)

Check the neutral position of the coil spring

» The mark (1) on the coil spring is not visible.
Measure
- Turn the coil spring cassette until the mark (1) on the coil spring is visible in the inspection glass (2).
Check
- Version B:
Check the mark (1) on the coil spring in the inspection glass (2).
Result
» The mark (1) on the coil spring is not visible.
Measure
- Turn the coil spring cassette until the mark (1) on the coil spring is visible in the inspection glass (2).
Check
- Possibly, a microencapsulated screw (3) has been installed.
- Check the screw connection.
Result
» Screw (3) is micro-encapsulated.
Measure
- Clean thread in steering column.
Replace the screw (3).
Parts: Screw
- Align mark (1) on steering wheel to mark (2) on steering column.
- Connect steering wheel.
- Connect plug (1).
- If installed: Connect plug (2).
- Tighten down screw (3).TIGHTENING TORQUES SPECIFICATION
Steering wheel to steering column M14
Only with microencapsulated screw:
Replace screw.tightening torque 62.5°
