Removing bottom catalytic converters of cylinders 1 through 4 and 5 through 8

WARNING: Hot surfaces .
Risk of burning!

Perform all work only on components that have cooled down.

NOTE: TECHNICAL INFORMATION
Mount the exhaust system in a de-energized state, following the tightening sequence from the rear silencer towards the exhaust manifold.

Preliminary work

Refer to REMOVING THE LEFT AND RIGHT UNDERSHIELD (TANK COVER) .
Refer to REMOVING THE REAR LEFT AND RIGHT TENSION STRUT .
Refer to REMOVING THE LEFT AND RIGHT REAR DIFFUSER .
Refer to REMOVING THE PROTECTIVE PLATE ON THE TRANSMISSION .
Refer to REMOVING EXHAUST SYSTEM .

Risk of burning!

Any work must exclusively be carried out with an exhaust system that has cooled down.

NOTE: RISK OF DAMAGE
Damage to the gasoline particulate filter .
Forcibly removing, installing or dropping the gasoline particulate filter down will damage it .

Remove and install the gasoline particulate filter without damaging it and without applying external force.
Avoid impacts/knocks to the gasoline particulate filter (e.g. by tools, falling down, hard contact with base).

Loosen screws (1) to (3).
Remove screws (arrows).
Feed out and remove the thrust field (4) in the area (5) of the wheel arch trim panel.

Feed out and remove the underbody protection (1).

Loosen the nuts (1).
Remove the heat shield (2).

Release nuts (1) on bottom catalytic converter near engine (2).

Remove the seal (1).
Feed out bottom catalytic converter near engine (2) and remove.
