NOTE:
Perform the steps on the left and right side.
- Mark the separating cut (1) on the new part to reflect the separating cut on the vehicle + approx.
15 - 20 mm material allowance and carry out the cut.
(2) = Separating cut on the vehicle
- Release the outer parts of the inner tail panel from the middle part:
- Screw in a few retaining screws in the flange surface (1).
In so doing: Do not place the retaining screws on the series spot-welds.
- Release the series spot-welds in the area (1).
Do not drill through completely. Note the joint made by MAG welding.
- Open welded connections in area (2).
- Release the outer parts of the tail panel from the middle part.
- Fit and fix the inner parts of the rear trim panel.
- Prepare areas (1) to (3) for joining by welding.NOTE: To provide a better overview: Schematic diagram with partially hidden components.
- Prepare area (1) for joining by welding.NOTE: Section of the outer rear end plate is hidden for a better overview.
- Prepare areas (1) and (2) for joining by welding.
- Prepare areas (1) and (2) for joining by welding.

- Adjust and secure the outer section of the rear trim panel in combination with the tailgate and rear lights.
- Prepare area (1) for joining by bonded rivet method.
In area (1), male 3 bore holes with 0 4.2 mm for blind rivets.
- Prepare area (2) for joining by welding.
- Prepare the joints in areas (1) and (2) using the bond-and-rivet method.
In areas (1) and (2), make bore holes of 0 4.2 mm for the blind rivet.
Area Number 1 9 2 3 - In area (3), prepare for joining by the bonded rivet method.
Check ground pins and replace if necessary
