Remove B-Pillar With Reinforcement
- Make the separating cut (1) to dimension.
Dimension a = 95 mm from the center of the hinge mount.
- Cut through B-pillar completely. Do not damage the inner side member in doing so.
- Mark and perform the separating cuts in accordance with the specified dimensions.
Thereby disconnect only the outer panel.
Separating cut (1): Dimension (a) = 150 mm from the center of the screw connection option (2).
Separating cut (3): Dimension (b) = 370 mm from dimension a.
Separating cut (4): Dimension (c) = 25 mm from the component edge of the roof frame.
- Start the separating cut (1) as shown and completely cut through the B-pillar.
- Open the welded connections in areas (2) and remove the metal section (3).
- Mark the separating cuts (1) according to the schematic diagram and carry out the cuts. Thereby disconnect only the outer panel.
- Loosen welded connections in areas (2).
- Detach the metal section (3) of the B-pillar reinforcement.
- Open the welded connections in area (1) and remove the metal section of the B-pillar (2)
- Mark and perform the separating cuts (1) in accordance with the specified dimensions.
Thereby disconnect only the outer panel.
Dimension a = 40 mm from the center point of the hole 20 mm diameter.
Dimension b = 20 mm from the center point of the hole 20 mm diameter.
- Open welded connections in area (2).
- Open spot-welded adhesive joints in areas (3).
- Release and remove door sill section from the cavity sealings (4).
- Release welded connections in areas (1).
- Remove sheet metal cutout of B-pillar reinforcement (2).
- Open welded connections in area (1).
- Remove metal section (2).
