Removing the low-temperature coolant expansion tank

NOTE: TECHNICAL INFORMATION 
Only flexible hose pipes may be disconnected.

• Disconnect coolant hose (1) using special tool 0 491 256 (13 3 010). 
• Plastic tubes must not be detached with clamping pliers  .

• Release screw (1) on coolant expansion tank (2).

• Open the lid (1) on the coolant expansion tank.

• Suction the coolant using a commercially available syringe (1) or a suitable tool.

• Prepare a standard waterproof rubber mat (1).

• Position the pressure sensor on cylinder head cover.

• (2) (1) (3) Make sure that the rubber mat covers the areas between the expansion tank and the cylinder head cover in the area of the injector shafts.

  Collect and dispose of emerging fluids. Observe country-specific waste disposal regulations
• Unlock and disconnect the coolant hose (1).
• Press in lock (2) and detach coolant lines (3).
• Remove the low-temperature coolant expansion tank.
