Install bottom tailgate trim panel
- Release the lower tailgate trim panel (1) from the cover for the trunk lid lock (2) at the locks (arrows) and disconnect from one another.
- Check detents and guides.
They must not be damaged or missing.
- Install the cover for trunk lid lock (1) and clip in at the clips (2).NOTE: Perform the steps on the right and left side.
- Remove the welding residues in the area of rubber cover (2) at the bottom tailgate trim panel.
- Replace the rubber cover (2).

- Position the rubber cover (2) in the tailgate trim panel at the bottom and position it correctly.
- Fix the rubber cover (2) with the superglue on to the points (1).
- Install the lower tailgate trim panel (1) and feed in carefully at the striker.
Ensure that the rubber covers (3) do not tear off from the tailgate trim panel.
- Carefully feed the lower tailgate trim panel (1) onto the cover for the trunk lid lock and lock in place.
- Engage the lower tailgate trim panel (1) at the clips (2).
