- Check lifting eyes and engine mounting brackets for damage, e.g. cracks.
- Attach the component to correctly mounted engine joints or cross members only.
- Only lift component, do not move it longitudinally or transversely.
- Equipment specification without front mounting bracket:
Insert and position the special tool 2 459 012 at the cylinder head.
Tighten the screws (1) of the special tool 2 459 012 .
NOTE: TECHNICAL INFORMATION
Conduct the following operation with the assistance of a second person. - Carefully position engine bridge (1) with help from an assistant.
- Ensure that the special tool 0 496 438 (00 6 053) from the special tool kit 0 496 430 (00 6 050) on the left rests correctly on the fixture for the hood lock.
- Ensure that the special tool 0 496 437 (00 6 052)
from the special tool kit 0 496 430 (00 6 050)
on the left rests correctly on the spring strut dome.
- Ensure that the special tool 0 496 438 (00 6 053) from the special tool kit 0 496 430 (00 6 050) on the right rests correctly on the fixture for the hood lock.
- Ensure that the special tool 0 496 437 (00 6 052)
from the special tool kit 0 496 430 (00 6 050)
on the right rests correctly on the spring strut dome.
- If necessary, release the nuts (1) and position the engine bridge (2).
- Fit the special tool 0 490 579 (11 0 070) to the engine bridge.
- Attach the special tool 0 490 579 (11 0 070) in the mounting bracket (1) at rear on the cylinder head.
- Fit the special tool 0 490 579 (11 0 070) in the front mounting bracket (2) on the cylinder head.
Releasing the engine support brackets on the left and right engine mounts
- Unscrew screw (1) on right engine support bracket from the bottom.
- Prepare special tool 0 493 751 (11 9 150)
as shown.
- Release the screw (1) on the left engine support bracket from the bottom using the special tool 0 493 751 (11 9 150) .
- Lift the engine by 10 mm by turning the spindle 2 361 506 (00 6 103) .
