Attaching the engine on the front subframe
CAUTION:
Components connected to the engine joint or cross member.
Injury hazard!
Injury hazard!
- Check lifting eyes and engine mounting brackets for damage, e.g. cracks.
- Attach the component to correctly mounted engine joints or cross members only.
- Only lift component, do not move it longitudinally or transversely.
- Keep the special tool 2 220 718
ready.
- Keep the special tool 0 490 567 (11 0 020)
ready.
- Guide in and position special tool 2 459 012 on cylinder head.
- Tighten the screws (1) of special tool 2 459 012
.TIGHTENING TORQUES SPECIFICATION
Special tool to cylinder head M8 Tightening torque 21.5 Nm NOTE: TECHNICAL INFORMATION
The workshop crane, lifting equipment, and mounting brackets on the engine must be connected to each other in such a way that the engine hangs straight when being lifted. - Connect both hooks of the special tool 0 490 567 (11 0 020) to the front and rear of the engine with the mounting brackets.
- Connect the special tool 2 220 718
to special tool 0 490 567 (11 0 020)
.
- Position the engine with the special tool 2 220 718
on the front subframe.
- Tighten the screw (1) of the engine mount on the right and left with a commercially available tool.TIGHTENING TORQUES SPECIFICATION
Engine mount to engine support bracket M12 Tightening torque 100 Nm - Version with engine mount with vacuum line:
- Secure vacuum line (1).
