Remove coolant expansion tank

Preliminary work 

• Refer to REMOVING THE FRONT UNDERBODY PROTECTION .
• Refer to REMOVING BOTTOM LEFT FRONT WHEEL ARCH COVER .
• Refer to REMOVING THE COOLANT EXPANSION TANK FOR THE LOW-TEMPERATURE COOLANT CIRCUIT .

• Use commercially available disconnection tools to pinch off the coolant lines.

• Use commercially available syringe (1) or a suitable tool to empty the coolant expansion tank.

• Loosen (1) sealing cap.
• Draw off coolant with standard pump.

  NOTE: The following step(s) must be performed if the listed component(s) is/are installed.
• Unlock and release coolant line (1).
• Unlock and loosen the locks (2).
• Lift coolant expansion tanks (3) and guide out the grommet (4).

  NOTE: TECHNICAL INFORMATION 
  Only flexible hose pipes may be disconnected.
• Unlock plug connection (1) and disconnect.
• Unlock the coolant line (2) and detach it.
• Catch and dispose of leakage coolant.
• Thread out coolant expansion tank (3) and remove.
