Remove both lower D-pillar trim panels

NOTE: Description is for left component only. Procedure on the right side is identical.

Loosen screws (1).

Have the set of special tools 0 493 752 (00 9 329) ready.

Position suitable special tool between the tailgate seal and the bottom D-pillar trim panel (1).
Release latch mechanism (2) and unclip the clip (3).
Feed out the bottom D-pillar trim panel (1) under the sealing lip on the tailgate seal, release upwards out of the guides (4) and remove.

If installed: Release the Bowden cable for the backrest remote unlocking:
Release and detach the Bowden cable (1) on the bottom D-pillar trim panel (2) in direction of arrow.
Remove the bottom D-pillar trim panel (2).
