Removing the fan cowl

TECHNICAL INFORMATION
When the engine is stopped after the completion of trip, it may be necessary to run the electric fan. In rare cases, operation of the electric fan can take up to 11 minutes. This protects the components. In this case, replacing the electric fan is not necessary.

Preliminary work
- Refer to REMOVING THE FRONT UNDERBODY PROTECTION .
- Refer to REMOVING THE TOP RIGHT AND LEFT COVER IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT .
- Refer to REMOVING FRONT CROSS CONNECTION .
- Refer to REMOVING THE LEFT AND RIGHT FRONT-END STRUT .
- Refer to REMOVING THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT COVER PANEL IN THE REAR LEFT AND RIGHT .
- Refer to REMOVING MOUNT OF HOOD SEAL ON THE LEFT AND RIGHT .

Precondition
Ignition is switched off.
- Release clamp (1) from the fan cowl (2).
- Unlock connector (1) and pull off.
- Release the clip (2) from the fan cowl.
- Loosen clamps (3).
- Release coolant line at fan cowl and set aside.
- Unlock the left and right (arrows) locking mechanisms.
- Carefully maneuver fan cowl (4) in the direction of the arrow and remove.
For follow-up work on the engine:
Install guard for cooler fins
