Install the engine bridge

Preliminary work
- Bring front compartment lid in the SERVICE POSITION
- Remove right flap in luggage compartment TRIM PANEL
- De-energize the HIGH-VOLTAGE SYSTEM
- CHECK that no voltage is applied.
- Disconnect the (starter unit battery) negative BATTERY CABLE
- Remove trunk battery COVER
- Disconnect the system battery negative BATTERY CABLE .
- Remove the rear left engine compartment COVER
- Remove the rear right engine compartment COVER
- Remove the hood rear SEAL .
- Remove left and right WIPER ARM .
- Remove the cowl COVER .
- Remove the upper part FIREWALL .
- Remove the ACOUSTIC COVER .
- Remove rear ACOUSTIC COVER .
- Remove the IGNITION COIL .
- Remove FUEL DELIVERY LINE .
- Remove the top right and left engine compartment COVER .
- Remove the left and right hood gasket STAND .
- Remove the front left WHEEL .
- Remove the front wheel arch TRIM .
- Remove the right steering assembly COVER .
- Remove the REAR SECTION of the front wheel arch cover front.
- Remove the center UNDERBODY PROTECTION .
- Remove rear UNDERBODY PROTECTION .

Components connected to the engine joint or cross member.

- Check lifting eyes and engine mounting brackets for damage, e.g. cracks.
- Attach the component to correctly mounted engine joints or cross members only.
- Only lift the component, do not shift it forwards, backwards or in transverse direction.
- Equipment specification without front mounting bracket:
Insert and position the special tool 2 459 012 at the cylinder head.
Tighten the screws (1) of the special tool 2 459 012 .
TIGHTEN TORQUES SPECIFICATION

Conduct the following operation with the assistance of a second person.
Conduct the following operation with the assistance of a second person.
- Carefully position engine bridge (1) with help from an assistant.
- Ensure that the special tool 0 496 438 (00 6 053) from the special tool kit 0 496 430 (00 6 050) on the left rests correctly on the fixture for the bonnet lock.
- Ensure that the special tool 0 496 437 (00 6 052) from the special tool kit 0 496 430 (00 6 050) on the left rests correctly on the spring strut dome.
- Ensure that the special tool 0 496 438 (00 6 053) from the special tool kit 0 496 430 (00 6 050) on the right rests correctly on the fixture for the bonnet lock.
- Ensure that the special tool 0 496 437 (00 6 052)
from the special tool kit 0 496 430 (00 6 050)
on the right rests correctly on the spring strut dome.
- If necessary, release the nuts (1) and position the engine bridge (2).
- Fit the special tool 0 490 579 (11 0 070) to the engine bridge.
- Attach the special tool 0 490 579 (11 0 070) in the mounting bracket (1) at rear on the cylinder head.
- Fit the special tool 0 490 579 (11 0 070) in the front mounting bracket (2) on the cylinder head.
