Tightening the VANOS central valve
NOTE:
TECHNICAL INFORMATION
Assemble the tools for releasing and tightening of the VANOS central valves according to their accessibility.

- Have the special tool 2 469 138 ready .
- Have all the special tools and commercially available tools ready.
Number Description 1 Standard torque wrench 2 Wrench socket set 2 450 487 3 Reversible ratchet 0 496 855 4 Commercially available reduction 5 Adapter 2 469 138 - Assemble all the special tools and commercially available tools as shown.
- Use the reversible ratchet (2) from the special tool 0 496 855
with the special tool 2 450 487
to tighten the VANOS central valve (1).
- Use special tool 0 496 855
to tighten the VANOS central valve (1).
- Tighten the VANOS central valve of the intake adjuster (1) with special tool 0 496 855 or 2 450 487 .

- Tighten VANOS central valve of the exhaust camshaft adjuster (1) with the special tool 0 496 855 .

Follow-up work
- CRANK ENGINE twice (automatic transmission).
- Disassemble all SPECIAL TOOLS .
- Install STARTER MOTOR .
- Install cylinder head COVER .
- Install both ACTUATORS .
- Prepare the INJECTORS for installation.
- Install the cylinders 4 to 6 INJECTORS .
- Install the cylinders 1 to 3 INJECTORS .
- Prepare for the installation of the HIGH PRESSURE PUMP .
- Install HIGH PRESSURE PUMP .
- Install the HIGH-PRESSURE LINE between the high-pressure rail and the high-pressure pump.
- Install FUEL DELIVERY LINE .
- Install all SPARK PLUGS .
- Install the IGNITION COILS .
- Install the RESONATOR with the top clean air pipe.
- Install intake filter HOUSING .
- Install fan COWL .
- Install the rear top CROSS CONNECTION .
- Install front CROSS CONNECTION .
- Install left and right FRONT-END STRUT .
- Install the left and right hood gasket SEAL .
- Install the top left and right engine compartment COVER .
- Reconnect all battery GROUND LEADS .
- Check engine OIL LEVEL .
- Install the underneath second end PANEL .
- Install right sealing FRAME .
- Install rear acoustic COVER .
- Install the upper part COWL .
- Install left and right shock tower TENSION STRUT .
- Install windshield panel COVER .
- Install left and right WIPER ARM .
- Install the rear left engine compartment COVER .
- Install the rear right engine compartment COVER .
- Install the front hood rear SEAL .
- Install ACOUSTIC COVER .
- Install rear UNDERBODY PROTECTION .
- Install the center UNDERBODY PROTECTION .
- Install the front UNDERBODY PROTECTION .
- Take hood out of the SERVICE POSITION .
